Things suddenly just got better at about 5 yesterday evening. I'd gotten great piles of work done in a very short time, and got to leave at 5:30. And then I went into town to spend an Easons token I got as a birthday present - ended up getting Forests of the Heart (Charles de Lint) and The Foreigners (James Lovegrove). Then home, where [livejournal.com profile] inannajones had meatballs on pasta waiting (which was very very good, as usual), and settled in to spod and write a Times (which I'll post this evening to [livejournal.com profile] timesofhaelthan).

A good night's sleep, most likely due to the warm bed and comfortably cold room, and then rising into a lovely morning with a slight mist and air cold enough to see my breath in as I stepped out the door - and if there wasn't frost, then it was within half a degree of it. There are leaves starting to collect in heaps and drifts, and I had most of the Jethro Tull album Songs from the Wood on the music player on the phone. I remembered to actually get the Baebes CD, and to bring in a book I borrowed from a co-worker. And to make everything extra good, I found a fiver at the bus stop.

Things had a go at getting unpleasant again during the morning as work piled up, but they were summarily defeated by getting the work done. Now looking at a comfortable enough afternoon, a game tonight, and a weekend to follow. A weekend that includes a full moon and the celebration of Mabon, unless I'm messing up the calendar, too...

Now, assuming that the day improves for [livejournal.com profile] inannajones too, life will be good.
