I quote Colin Powell: "We will find weapons of mass destruction.".

And I'm starting to think they will, because they'll import them, sandblast them a bit so they look Iraqi, put them in a bunker somewhere, and invite someone to inspect it. Presto! Weapons of Mass Destruction, gosh, they were right all along.

Look, if the Iraqis had decent defenses, don't you think they would have used some of them when you were bombing the hell out of them? And wouldn't a country as internally divided as Iraq is shown to be (at least in the media; I'm not convinced) have someone who would say "The weapons you're looking for are in the basement of Number 13, Saddam Street, Baghbad?"

There aren't any weapons of Mass Destruction, guys, and Iraqi liberation is wearing pretty damn thin as an excuse.

Y'know I've been thinking the same thing.. my dad said much the same thing last week. If I had WMD I'd use them by this time. Saddam isn't stupid he's been fought into a corner, if he doesn't use the WMD by the time that town he's in falls he doesn't have ANY! Any they find after that are planted!

I am, frankly, amazed that they haven't produced any by now. Faked or not.

Unless they're happy to have the pretext seen as clearly a pretext, if the meta-message is: Be afraid, because if we take it in our heads we will beat the crap out of you and we don't need a plausible reason...

Sigh. I wish there were more I could do about all this.

You know I had exactly the same thought. There are quite a few secret bases in the US where they could make these weapons then secretly ship them to Iraq and go, "see! see! we found them!" ... Yeah right!

If Iraq had WOMD they would have used them by now.

Or maybe they're in for a secret counter-attack.

Transparent! Beady eyes are on Syria next. Why don't they take the whole Middle East except Israel and have done with it? I mean, we're obviously overdue a Crusade to convert the unbelievers to 'democracy'.
