It is possible that there is little that can cause more danger of putting one's soul in peril of eternal damnation than watching someone who just handed one an extra hour's work when one is already an hour and a half into overtime, swanning off to her acting class. Not words, not deeds, thoughts alone that would condemn one to be the toy of Satan until the Big Crunch.

So this evening, I'm glad I'm not Christian.

Ouch. That hurts. Are you compensated for overtime?

I am not; I am salaried - secure but subject to unpaid overtime. I like the security. The over, well.

Hey, I think that's some pretty justified anger, there, myself.

I'm in the same salaried positon as yourself.

Assuming you've not been ordered to do this work by the managing director or something, I'd walk if I was in that position - if it was a case of the other person sacrificing their time, then I'd hang in there. But that's not the case - if it's not important for this other person to stick around for, then it can wait until the morning.

And if they chose to protest to someone more senior then I'd be fine with that.
