Quite. I don't care who reads me, and I'll read anything - things that don't deserve an iota of anything, let alone attention, and sometimes I'll not read deeply meaningful pieces.
I've encountered "famous" people, and I've respected some of them for some of the things that they've done (which aren't necessarily the things that've made them famous), but I've never felt myself wealthier by the experience than if I'd just encountered Joe Soap from Nowheresville.
Popularity is a very shallow attribute that feeds only the ego, and I've never found the ego worth anything. I write my journal to amuse me; if it amuses others, then that's a side benefit. The people I value most highly in my life - my family, my loved ones, trusted friends - some of them don't even know the damn journal even exists. What transfers between me and them isn't attention, and nor would I want it to be, because what I value most in a relationship is sharing - love, experiences, moments, even bodily fluids *ahem*. Not some sort of bargainy, "I'll pay you this attention, you'll pay me that attention."
