Hallowe'en is good. [livejournal.com profile] inannajones has provided a complete account of our evening, culture and all. I'm rediscovering a liking for baroque music, aided and abetted by the purchase of a CD of same; titled Baroque Festival. There were a fair number of people about in costume, and we saw a good few fireworks, and heard - and indeed can hear - lots more. I like festivals - although the cat apparently isn't too keen on this one.

Watch for a post sometime soon critiquing the concert in detail - when I have the program on hand, because I can't quite remember what-all was on it.

I'm not sure what to make of this... this morning, I was peacefully sitting in Tara Street station, waiting for the train to take me to Dun Laoghaire, reading Wizard of the Pigeons. I was sitting on the ground, since all the seats were occupied. An old guy, scruffy, in non-descript colours, lots of grey-brown beard, was making his way along the platform, stopping and muttering at people. As he came nearer, I could hear a few people's replies, although not what he was saying. He was shaking his head after each reply. Most said "I don't know", one said "Money", and another, "God". He got to me, crouched beside me and asked, in very low tones: "What's the most important thing?". I blinked a bit, and turned the book over on my lap, and then said "Love". He grinned and looked at the book. "That's right," he said "Love. Wizard. Yer the Wizard of Duke Street, you are!". And stood up and strode away down the platform, leaving me still blinking.
