Sometimes, you think you have someone pegged. And then they go and do something completely outside the box you had them in, and you're left going, huh?

(Yeah, yeah, I know. First song lyrics, now cryptic comments. I'm turning into [livejournal.com profile] grahamb.)

Last night's game was interesting. The Threshold of Ages PCs are now facing a trip across the Outlands, via the Gods only know where, to get back to Davon. For company, they've a slightly higher level mage, an weird air elemental alchemist, two fire elementals, a ghaele eladrin, and two bebeliths. They also had a brief glimpse into Baator, but they didn't seem to like it. The Pillar of Skulls may have put them off, I think.

The Outlands are great; you can run into almost anything there, right across the spectrum of Outsiders, the realms of Gods, gate-towns, druid-groves, and just plain strange locations. And then they'll have to explain to the Haelthannic Navy and other such folks just where they were when they were supposed to be surveying and making safe a place with new colonists in it.

I'll put together a proper Christmas/Yule/Winter wishlist later, but I just realised three things I want.

1) Music by Nightwish (not the CD with Over The Hills And Far Away on it)
2) Music by Lullacry (not the CD with Be My God on it)
3) A mini-lectern, for holding a hardback book open. These are sold as cookery book stands, I think. No need for the fancy ones with lights. And I could do with at least three of these, for holding rulebooks open while I'm writing game stuff.
