This is not being a good day. Pressure in on all sides to fix several errors, and I can't seem to explain that the more time I spend telling people what is wrong, the less time I have to work on it.

Yayfun. I love days when the work piles up, teetering in a huge heap so that if it falls, you're going to spend weeks digging your way out. No, really. And in the meantime, all the arctic ice is going to melt and the polar bears will be homeless. Goddamn capitalists, where's my elephant gun?

On the other hand, I have Friday off, and the Met Office are saying that it's going to be a very cold day. Excellent. I shall interrupt my intention of doing absolutely nothing all day, and go for a walk. And there could actually be frost tonight, not just wishful thinking - it could drop as low as -2°C. Want cold.

It's 18:00, and I'm still in work, waiting on some very small details of a page which has to be finished today so that it can be tested. I could start some of the other stuff I have to do, or I could write an LJ entry.

Christmas )

Hm. That looks like a post...

When you post something small and silly on a mailing list, or on LJ, or on a blog, you get responses. But if you post something meaningful - or, in some cases, meaningful to you - it sinks like a stone. I surprised myself a while back by being used to this and thinking "Excellent, no responses."

[livejournal.com profile] news says free users can't post or comment at the moment. Suddenly glad I have a paid account...

Things I could do on Friday, but probably won't:

Read all the mail that I've gotten from various mailing lists, and haven't had time to read in the last three months.

Read the books I got from the library.

Put together a decent NWN module, or start on same.

Bring my desk into some kind of rational order.

Clean up the hard drives of various computers.

What I probably will do:

Play NWN, read some comics, put together the numbers for a horrible rast/kobold tauric I have in mind, go for a walk if it's nice and cold, and just plain relax.

I have not taken a day to just relax for... um, I'm not sure if I ever have, really, intentionally. I'm looking forward to it.
