Bleah. It's wet out there, and new icon or not, I don't much like rain. That is, I like rain in the theoretical forms of light summer showers that go away quickly, or great stonking thunderstorms, but we don't often get either of those in Ireland. Although, come to think of it, last March and April had a lot of thunder.

Last night's Threshold of Ages game went well. I'm going to have to look into doing a longer session or sessions at some point, though, because I think everyone's really only getting settled in by the time we have to finish. I'm assuming here, of course, that the quieting down and paying attention is a sign of getting into the game, not one of being bored.

[livejournal.com profile] grahamb is to arrive tonight. We're going to lock him under the stairs again. We had to throw away his head from last time, so we'll probably work on getting a new one too.

I really need to work some game writing time into the schedule this week or weekend. Some discussions with [livejournal.com profile] iresprite have cystallised things that I want to get straight in a file or two.

A pro-war viewpoint, quoted with permission:

War for oil? Ok by me. Human rights abuses aren't enough to justify a war.

And this isn't taken out of context - the surrounding text was to back it up. A later reply confirmed that yes, the writer regards their own comfort as more important than the lives of others.

I'm kind of stunned by this - left staggered, mentally, unable to respond to something so alien to my own morality. There's something wrong with a world where someone can grow up thinking like that.

Can anyone recommend a small, preferably free, program for what to make them an-i-mat-ed gifs with?

Right. I need suggestions for an outfit suitable for a Mardi Gras/Afro-Caribbean Masquerade-Masked-Ball thing. To be either reasonably cheap & available in Dublin, or assemblable from ordinary clothes. It's on Saturday. Go!
