Hey, loupblanc or silme - how would I go about getting a list of the names and approximate physical locations of all the households, shires, and other groups in Insulae Draconis? It's for an A&S thing I have in mind.
Well ID is supposed to have a website but it's not quite ready yet.
If you go to http://www.drachenwald.sca.org/groups/isles.htm there's a map I made (*shameless plug*) of the groups in Insulae Draconis. The page should also tell you which area of the UK and IReland they cover.
As for households, they're pretty unofficial groups in the sca. There is an SCA directory of households but not all of them are in there.
Those I know are Enkelhem, Brighthelm, Eplaheimr (it's an incipient shire now but it still works as a household too since I'm a member :), Arnamara, House Chesterfield... there may be others but I don't know them all. The thing is you can't give geographical boundaries to a household, at least not to the ones I know.
There aren't any other group other than the big one, the Crown Principality of Insulae Draconis.
It does, a fair bit. Is the SCA directory of households online or a paper thing?
And while I know there aren't geographical boundaries to households, it'd be good to know roughly where they are for the ones you've named - f'rinstance, it can be said that most of the members of Eplaheimr live in a given area in the midlands of Ireland, and the Suil An Oilean (Group? Household? What is Suil An Oilean, anyway?) folks are mostly in Dublin.
Well the Directory of Households is an on line ressource. You can find it here. It's not the one I use to know but things tend to change quickly on the web.
Well, Enkelhem is mostly in Fife, Brighthelm in fife and north-eastern Scotland, anamara is mostly London, House Chesterfield is in and around Harrogate in Yorkshire and Eplaheimr is, well in Eplaheimr ;)
I don't know much about Suil an Oilean, you should ask Ulfric about it, he should know. Afaik, it's basically a temporary name for the group of SCA people in Dublin. Whether or not it'll be the name of a shire in the future is anyone's guess.

You're doing a medieval map or something?

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm doing it, but I'm prodding the idea to see if it bites. :)
