It's 13°C outside now, and was down to about 9° overnight. This resulted in my sleeping more soundly than I have done in a long time, and made the alarm at 06:30 this morning a surreal and strange experience. The radio was fairly quiet, though, and the cat wasn't as loud as she might have been, so I managed to come to without any major jarring of the brain.

There's a pretty and complex sky outside; pale blue in the north and west, and cloud-dappled in the south and east, with little patches of salmon sky and a few mares' tails. It's not red at all, but it's managing to look pre-storm anyway. No chance of showers now or for the next little while, though, so I think I'll grab the chance to walk across to the train.

Work has been very busy of late, and other matters piling up. Last Friday evening was a work night out, which was ok considering it was the "show" in Johnny Fox' pub, the most self-consciously Oirish pub in Dublin. Saturday morning, I got up bright and early and hied myself and my helm to Roscrea, where Master Etienne picked me up and brought me to Kilmurry, where we spent the day making a new gorget and adding bits to the helm, so that finally, I can dispose of the chunks of leather I've been using along the lower edge of the helm. I was supposed to come back to Dublin on the last bus, but it neglected to arrive, so Master Etienne picked me up from the bus stop again, and having spent the evening drinking raspberry liquer and sherry in the study (and having had a very good dinner provided by Lady Sagadis), and admiring the collection of antiquities, I slept in the library, and caught the first bus back.

Monday was, I think, untimetabled, unless I'm forgetting something.

Tuesday was the fight practice, the first one I've made it to in weeks, and the new version of the helm works very well. I was rather disappointed with my stamina until Lord Arthur pointed out that in the first set of bouts, I had fought about three times longer than usual. I still need to work on the arm strength - or arm stamina, since strength is realistically not an issue - and on defense, but I'm pleased with how things are going.

Wednesday - that's last night - my father dropped over, with a letter from my national school teacher, whom I haven't seen in well over a decade, and then we went to visit [livejournal.com profile] niallm and [livejournal.com profile] radegund and Oisín (get that kid an LJ!).

Tonight is a game in the Capel Street Campaign - taking [livejournal.com profile] eng_monkey's suggestion, it will be called The Big Easy - and tomorrow is most likely an Age of Legends game.

Saturday, I intend to write through. No phone calls, no email, no lj, as little internet as is possible, just me and my notebooks and folders and a huge pile of rulebooks.
