Jaron Lanier wrote a piece in last week’s Edge, titled Digital Maoism, bemoaning the state of authority of collective works on the internet. He’s provoked quite a response.

I found it interesting that one of his examples of bad collectivism is about intelligent design, when evolution would be the collectivist analogue and intelligent design the author one.
