I’ve just finished a redesign of The Wizard of Duke Street. There might be some tweaks to go, but the core of it’s done. Your comments and criticisms will be welcomed.

But the site is about RPG and other fantasy oriented games. How about adding a layer of elegant but not distracting fantasy theming to it? Keep the colour scheme, it's quite flexible. What about using some banners/background/images of some campaign maps? I'm sure I've seen some wonderful maps in your house in the past - could some of them be used as base for some theming? The black, grey and cream colours on the site could easily blend in quite nicely with an old faded treasure-type map.
Also, and I'm sure this is already on your to do list, I'd increase the padding on some of the divs on the page, specifically the 'title bar' and 'footer'. You know, just a few pixels so the content doesn't press up against the edges. Dab o' CSS oughta fix it.

I'm using graphic, thematic backgrounds on this under-development page: How to Build Worlds, and I think they work well there.
I'll experiment slowly with the addition of some graphic elements, I think; perhaps abstract patterning in the background, maybe some highlights of map or illustration details.
You're dead right on the padding; it was in at one stage, and then lost again. I'll get it back in.
