Adsense on Livejournal

As a note, if you're intending to try the new Adsense on Livejournal thing - I am - you'll probably want to disable the setting under the privacy tab in LJ's options that says

"Search Inclusion [] Minimize my journal's inclusion in search engine results"

... cos otherwise you won't pick up much, if anything, from Adsense.

Anyone else opting in to this?

I would if it wasn't for paid users only

Hurray for Blogger uh... :/

Thinking about it - I could do with some spare pennies (though I understand that Adsense accounts don't start paying out until you reach a threshold amount - £100 I'm told.

Adsense pays out at US$100, which can indeed take a while to reach. I have it on my existing sites as well, so this is just one more channel.

I wouldn't say it's chancy - it's pretty predictable. However, a paid account is about $20, and Adsense only pays out when you hit $100, so it might take a while, depending on how many people see your pages, and what they're about. A popular crafts site will produce a lot more money than a popular tv review site, for instance.

And on the other hand, a 400% return on investment for no extra effort is not a bad deal, even if it takes a while...

I will probably do it for my AFMetalsmith blog.
