I just saw an ad for an upcoming Disney apparently called "Treasure Planet". There was a flying ship in the picture. Anyone know anything about it?

(Flying ships rock, btw. They're one of my favourite images ever.)

It's been out here awhile. It's getting good reviews.

I'm not sure what the story is about, but I'm assuming it's a 21st Century version of Treasure Island.

The picture was of a flying galleon... Treasure Island is a good yarn, anyway. Another one added to the list of films I want to see, which is longer than ever this quarter.

IT's an update of Treasure Island, and it looks pretty nifty.

Funky. ISTR a sci-fi remake of Treasure Island, years ago. In my memory, it's distinctly Technicolor... or I could have dreamt it.

Apparently a space version of Treasure Island. What's the fun of piracy if you can't stand on the deck of a ship. I mean, there is the looting and pillaging.

One of the best things about the story, the original, is the nasty pirate with the last name Tait. Course, I could be biased.

Well, there's shouting stuff like "Arr! Avast, me hearties!". But I suspect that's better on an open deck too.

The nifty clothes help too.

Not that I like pirates or anything.

There should be open decks. I don't know how they deal with a vacuum, though....

Have you read Chase the Morning by Michael Scott Rohan?
