It's been a very peaceful and comfortable day so far. We woke up at about 10:30, slowly wandered downstairs, and started to make breakfast, having put a table and some chairs outside because it's a truly gorgeous day. Bacon, bagels, salads, some of yesterday pancakes, coffee, and assorted other goods make for a good breakfast, especially eaten outside.
microgirl had stayed over, and
olethros appeared before noon, so there was plenty of varying conversation.
Since breakfast, I've mowed the lawn, and fetched and carried things for
inannajones, who was weeding the flowerbed by the north wall of the garden - a fairly large undertaking, producing a full bin-bag of twigs and leaves and dandelion roots.
And then we sat back with some of last night's risotto for lunch, and watched two robins bathing in the pond, about three metres from where we were sitting.
Anyone know if a curlew's beak would look straight from underneath? And if they fly in small groups - three to five?
