From [livejournal.com profile] sciamachy:

1. What is the smell of success?

Orange and chocolate.

2. What is the taste of defeat?

Ashes, when one can be bothered about it, and rice cakes when not.

3. What colour is geekiness?

A sort of beige-grey at first glance, and multicolored with metallic flecks if you look closer.

4. What does grief look like?

Clear, almost transparent, but obscuring everything.

5. What is the sound of death?

A cry cut off half-way.

My five:

1. What is the scent of Friday?
2. What color is a cramp?
3. How does the sky taste in winter?
4. How does understanding sound?
5. What is the texture of resolution?

1. Beer or cider (depending on preference), cold & fresh.
2. Searing white like heated steel
3. It tastes of ice and cigarette smoke.
4. "Aaaauuuuuuummmmmmmmm!" overlayed with the hum of turbines in a power station & fans in a server room.
5. The higher the resolution, the smoother the texture. Or if you mean the quality of being resolute, it's granite.

1. What is the scent of Friday?
Friday morning is by far the most fragrant part of the day as it is the scent of wildflowers carried on the winds of a gathering storm...this scent gradually gives way to the mingled odors of foods being prepared for celebration as the day progresses...Friday night smells pungent and dense with the expenditures of pent up needs and desires.

2. What color is a cramp?
A cramp is the absence of color flashing vividly in a space that understands only color.

3. How does the sky taste in winter?
The winter sky tastes like something that beckons you to drink deeply, yet supplies you with no purchase to make it possible.

4. How does understanding sound?
Understanding sounds like the soft, low trill in the back of your throat that reaches up from some place within you that is true...

5. What is the texture of resolution?
The texture of resolution should be densely woven from diverse cloths of many, but more often than we might be willing to admit, it is a patchy affair with varying degrees of roughness and smoothness...hardness and softness...thickness and thinness...nonetheless, it can be held.

1. Friday smells of warm electronics, a laundry pile that's been growing all week, and sun-warmed books.

2. cramps are glowing orange fading to red around the edges, the color of welding slag, sharp and searing but not too damaging.

3. Like snow off the mountains, sharp and crisp, dry and searing. Do not fly with windows open.

4. like a cat purr, low and happy and satisfied

5. it looks solid at first, until you look closely and realize it's a densely woven net, heavily re-inforced.
