I really hate virii. There's a Nimda infection on my desktop and on Nina's laptop, and it's a cast iron bitch to get rid of. I downloaded a specific cleaner, and reinstalled Norton Antivirus last night, and I really did think that the desktop at least was clean. But I came down this morning to two of Nimda's characteristic little Outlook files sitting on the desktop, and Norton has picked up about 2000 infected files so far, and is still counting. Fortunately, I don't use Outlook, and I have it as uninstalled as I can, so I think the only way it can spread is on the network; mails from me should be safe.
Norton also found files for seven other virii last night, all in the attached files directory, rather than actually infecting. And for jollies, I downloaded Ad-aware, and it found some 172 instances of unpleasant stuff. And I don't use IE, nor install much in the way of dodgy software.
Ugh.
