It's always so much more difficult to get moving again after a few days off. I'm sluggish this morning, lizard-like. Looking into the sharp end of a week that should be busy, but which contains no deadlines, and that's in itself an odd circumstance these days. It's getting harder to work on the non-deadline things, because I know they can, in fact, wait, no matter how nice it'd be to have them out of the way.
Spent a good chunk of the weekend planning a new campaign, although it's to replace the Middle Kingdoms one, not add to the load. It's set some 4600 years in Davon's past, in the same continent as Threshold of Ages and Age of Legends. I'm working through notions of campaign structure and storylines at the moment, and debating more structure or less structure as I go. Either has advantages...
inannajones and
olethros have player characters run up by now, a Runecaster Bard and a Psion. I can see that I'm going to have to get to grips with the Psionics rules that bit more.
I did, however, get an NPC that I hope will be one of the campaign's villains detailed and statted - at least 80% of the work on them done. And the map is mostly done, and I've started on the detailing of the era. I think I want to have a sort of pre-campaign meeting well before starting, so as to sort out the background, how the party met, who the mentor figures and friendly NPCs are, and so on.

Yeah, but I want the NPCs at least to work within something that might, from a distance, resemble the rules. Maybe.
I hate him|her already.
Ah, not yet you don't. Give them time to torture your pets, engrave your psicrystal with the words "X woz ere", and serve you day-old coffee.

Re: House rules?
Any class can be taken on, but this era regards arcane magic with great susperstition, so wizards and sorcerers may invited to lots of barbecues. Psions are subtler, but could be in for more of the same if noticed. (Wizards etc are mostly itinerant, moving from place to place for fear of discovery, or living in small groups and not bothering anyone. They have some strongholds, towers and citadels, in outlying areas that nobody else wants much).

It sounds really interesting. But I am behind on my writing. Yep. Behind on my writing...
