Just back from first ever SCA practice meet. Stiff. Sore. Bruised above the left knee. It was brilliant.

So, we may meet eventually since I'll have to travel to Ireland for various events. Don't know when I'll get to the Republic; I'll probably be at an event in Northern Ireland the first weekend of August.

Oh dear I've been saying that for 2 years and it still hasn't happened. But to my recollection you have better ressources in Ireland.

Haven't been fighting with anyone as such - I'm still at the hitting the pell level and likely to stay there for a bit - but the two guys whose SCA names I know are Lord Aidan McGuire, and Arpad (who seemed to know you).

Oh yeah, I know Arpad alright, we're both Insulae Draconis Officers (and so is silme by the way) and we're both fencers (though I haven't fought him yet... umm. must be rectified)

It was a combined fighting practice - there aren't currently enough people in Dublin to make it worthwhile doing seperate ones.

What's Insulae Draconis?

Insulae Draconis is the name of the larger group that encompasses The UK and Ireland. It is currently in the process of becoming a Crown Principality, which is an intermediate level for a group in the SCA (I'm trying not to confuse you, I'm guessing I'm not doing a great job).
