I don't know whether the cold shivers down my spine at the notion of a Narnia Movie are horror or anticipation. It could be so good. And it could be so dreadful.

There's really no way of knowing.

You know, I had exactly the same thought when I first heard they were doing a live-action LotR movie...

I still haven't decided whether or not I liked the last one...I suppose that means I need to watch it again. Of course that was a tv miniseries, but it was live action.

I know there was at least one tv series...

The following is all IMHO....

I've convinced myself of the following -

They should have started with The Magicians Nephew and proceeded through he series. As for the movie itself, they should follow the books faithfully, a la Harry Potter.

There's plenty there for some great films, but only if they do it "just so".

Peter Jackson has done an amazing job with Lord of the Rings, but at the end of it all, some of the deviations from the book have undermined the story.

I'm not big on the idea of starting with the Magician's Nephew, but that might be because it was probably my least favorite of the series. I don't think it's a very strong start, unlike The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, which is why I've been disappointed that the newer editions of the series start with Nephew as #1.

Anyway, having checked out the site, I'm cautiously hopeful about the film -- they seem to be placing a heavy emphasis on the books (at least, on the site) which makes me feel a little better.
