Look, people. "do u wanna chat??" is going to annoy me on four different counts.

1) You're using all lower case, and you're not hkim.
2) You used "u" instead of "you". Die. Screaming. With ants.
3) Two question marks. Two bullets. Bang bang.
4) You're opening with the same line as a hundred others. a/s/l is retro and cool now, you know.

My ignore/block buttons are getting worn out.

I must have very boring profile settings - I never get those...

I used to get messages from alleged young women on ICQ, but for some reason, database lookup always came back with an error and there was no obvious website or email or indeed, anybody at the other end. I never did quite work out what the point was.

I've been through this (actually, probably one worse; I doubt you've ever had men ask you to pretend you're walking on them in high-heeled shoes. That'll teach me to list "role-playing games" in my chat interests), and my advice is to put your ICQ and Yahoo! settings at "contact list only".

Neither MSN nor AIM (the latter being my personal favourite -- it's the one AOL product that doesn't suck) require this, though.
