Not so hot this morning. Quite a relief. Dreamt weird dreams, in which I had to outfit myself for a trip to a fantasy world, but the trip had a weight limit. So I had to decide between taking the claymore or the PHB. The PHB won, cos it had the spells in it, and for the weight of the claymore, I could get in two other rulebooks, and still have weight for a knife.

I think there was only so much weight the teleport going there could carry, and it'd choose at random what to leave behind if there was more. And arriving sans liver would have been bad.

Decisions, Decisions

Certainly an interesting choice, though admittedly probably the same one I'd've made. I'd presume there was already a nice, stout stick involved if a knife was an option?

I think I'd've bypassed one of the rulebooks and the knife in favor of my rapier, though. Just a personal preference there, though.

Claymore. Having tried, I know you can't use the PHB to actually cast any spells. And if you could, the material components alone would make it prohibitive...did you have any felt and a glass rod?

No, definitely the claymore.

You're probably right. Although I'd have had to sneak the Monster Manual in there someplace; knowing all those details about the beasties would be a great advantage.
