I just realised there now, while sending a mail to [livejournal.com profile] springinautumn, that I haven't sent a mail from this machine in over a week. And seeing as I send almost no mails while I'm in work, that means that almost all my non-work correspondence is happening via LJ and Farflung. That's kinda strange.

By the way, what's the current MP3 finding software of choice?

"By the way, what's the current MP3 finding software of choice?"

Wookie (don't know if you know him) mentioned Kazaa Lite a couple of weeks ago, as part of rant which contained "and using it means not having to agree to terms and conditions which mean the Gator Corporation own your PC, your data and your soul by the time you have it installed."

the new version of kazaalite also has an ipblocker,a handy thing to have. I tend to use it or Piolet..which uses a compression that allows for shorter dl times. On the downside for it ..fewer users.

These days my co workers and I generally use soulseek.

I've currently got two: Kazaa Lite and WinMX.

I use Gnucleus, "an open-source gnutella client." No spyware, no muss, no fuss, and I like the interface. A few drawbacks, but hey, no worries.

I personally use Shareaza. Seems to get the job done and supports both Gnutella and Gnutella2.

Kazaa lite here. It's a fairly huge network and should have what you want as a rule.
