This morning was clear and cool and bright, and there was wishful thinking on the grass. (Wishful thinking is what's on the grass when you'd like frost, and there isn't any, but there almost is. The thunder-obsessed BBC forecast is giving thunder every day for the next three days, but I don't believe it.

Welcome to [livejournal.com profile] caturah!

I'm working on driving my workmates crazy by exposing them to some 73 tracks of Christmas Music on random play. So far, the Head Marketeer has carted off one of my CDs to listen to it in the back office, the Guy I Report To has told me it's Good to have music, and the Administrator has told me I'm making her homesick, and not to stop. Maybe the craziness comes later...

I'm considering raiding the bargain bins in the local music shops for more music, too. Bwahaha.

I'm feeling extremely cheerful today. [livejournal.com profile] syleth's party, weekend, music and general good feeling around here may have something to do with this.

And in the last two days, I've given away two lj codes. Bwahaha.

And I posted to The Darkest Corner of the Basement. Nothing overly original, but 'tis there.

Y'know, the BBC try hard to remain fairly un-editorial in their reporting. But I suspect they're taking the piss a little here: Backpacker's 'smart' trek to safet.

Not to be nasty, now, but I've known how to follow streams downhill since I was, what, five? It's not exactly a difficult concept. And "almost impossible" to get out? Sorry, it looks to me like a not-very-bright teenager walked out, which doesn't seem impossible.

Is there any reason I associate Frankie Goes To Hollywood's The Power of Love with Wings of Desire?

Having heard the former for the first time only two years ago, and never seen but soon to see the latter, mind.

I discovered recently that I had seven days off left this year. So I've arranged to take off the 6th, 13th, 16th and 20th, and get paid in lieu for the remainder. I'm not quite sure what to do with the days themselves - probably the 6th and 16th will be days off proper, and the 13th and 20th spent in party preparations and packing for Finland respectively.
