The Fellowship of the Ring was bloody brilliant in the cinema; I saw it twice, which is something I've never done with a film before. But the extended version... oh man. Oh man. It was absolutely fantastic. It was perfect. Why in the name of all the Gods did they clip out those bits to begin with? I know there's this idea that people won't sit through three hours, but, y'know, we just did.

Some day, I want to be able to do stuff like that. I don't know what medium - I suspect computer assisted RPGs or something - but something that makes people feel like that. Even on the third time seeing it, I was tearing up at the sight of the Shire, and that's only at the start. And Gimli and Galadriel...

I'm getting a cold. I have this weird version of a high-speed metabolism which seems to speed illnesses up. So A cold blows up out of nowhere or almost nowhere within an hour, and will likely be gone in twenty-four hours. Of course, it had to take 24 hours out of the weekend. So I'm sitting at the computer, because sitting up is more comfortable, and it's easier to type than talk, with tissues, lemsip, eucalyptus oil on the burner, and I'm going to just surf it out. [livejournal.com profile] inannajones is responsible for the oil and the lemsip, so I'm being taken good care of.

After more fun with couriers, Greenwood Games has taken delivery of d20 Modern. At first glance, it rocks. I'm looking forward to running stuff with it.
