I got a coat. I got such a coat. A Coat, even.
inannajones bought it for me as a birthday present, and it rocks. It's halfway between a frock coat and a trenchcoat, shapewise, and is a fine wool - almost like felt. It's military looking - indeed, there's a patch on one shoulder where what looks like naval insignia was removed - and it has shiny silver buttons in a double row down along. I think it might qualify as a greatcoat, although I'm not quite sure what that describes. But in any case, I'm very pleased with it.
I have a single earring in my left ear. It's one of the metal-ring-with-a-ball-on-it ones. I wish to remove it, so that I can wear other, fancier ones. The ball rotates, but doesn't seem to be threaded, so that's not how it comes off. Any ideas, short of a pliers? I have a pliers (somewhere), and will use it if nothing else is suggested - I don't imagine I'll do myself any damage that way, but I'd like to know if there's a less crude method.
Poking around the house looking for the earring has instead revealed seven pounds sterling in change and 1 New Sheoel. I don't think anyone here has ever been to Israel, nore had an Israeli visitor. I have therefore no idea where it came from.
