It's manky wet weather out there, and for the first time in ages, it was necessary to get a bus rather than walking across to the train. Feel all twitchy now. We're apparently due a decent cold spell over the weekend, though, so I'm planning to spend the weekend in, doing food stuff, which I haven't done enough of this year. There'll probably be some experimental dishes on the go as well as standard things for freezing purposes, so if anyone feels like guinea-pigging, drop over. I'm thinking of making an attempt on some Indian cookery. If anyone has recommendations for easy Indian recipes, comment below - and bear in mind that I live in Ireland, so many exotic goods are hard to come by.

We had a good game workshop evening last night - not quite as intensive as I would have liked, but you can't have everything. [livejournal.com profile] mr_wombat is well on the way to having a pretty full character, and [livejournal.com profile] olethros has Plans now.

I am lost in admiration of Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed. It is jammed with absolutely fabulous stuff, and I'm not even finished the classes chapter yet. Things like the Akashics and the Champions and the Greenbond are inspired stuff, and I find myself wanting to shoehorn them into Davon. Fortunately, I have a way to do this with the various Returns - and it even fits, in many cases, with the notion of the Returns being honourable people. This keep happening with Monte's stuff - it gives me rules and structure for ideas I've already had.

Is there a shortcut key to switch between tool modes in Photoshop and/or Imageready? From rectangular marquee to oval marquee, for instance? If I'm working in the no-toolbars view, it's annoying to have to switch back to the toolbars to change modes; I can change tools without doing so.

Quick links here to something that came up in a conversation at work - the language of the Irish Travellers, variously called the Cant, the Gammon, Shelta, or Pavee. This was spoken to some degree in my hometown of Bunclody, too, as evidenced by the second link below.
