And since people keep asking what I want for my birthday, here's a partial list of things I would appreciate:

Books, book tokens, fancy dice, gaming stuff I don't have, garb, medieval stuff, curiousities, bones, skulls, bookshelves, a beanbag, cheese, cigars, a pipe, cognac, masks, single earrings, antique lab equipment, oriental statues and paintings, weapons, Hindu statuettes, crystals, feathers, tools.

But really, I'm not doing anything much for the birthday itself, so y'all can just ignore it too.

Re: Pipe?

He's evidently a man of good taste. And by weapons, I mean pointy things, of course, not the weapons of cowards.

Re: Pipe?

Pointy weapon things are what he has. Including a sword hidden in a walking stick and a bayonet.

You'll need to work on the sarcasm, but the pipe will give you his funny crooked brown teeth okay.

Re: Pipe?

Yup. Well, he did spend the best part of 40 years with it loosely hanging from his mouth. The bottom two just kind of bent to accomodate it.

If you get a pipe, you need one with a flat base otherwise you'll keep spilling tobacco everywhere which is a fire hazard and bad for marital harmony.

Re: Pipe?

I knew a few long term pipe smokers a few years back before age caught up with them and a pipe has a tendency to wear down the front teeth a little over time, putting a little dip in them, or if it's a heavier one, to slowly put the teeth slightly out of place, the same principle as a brace - constant pressure, only in reverse.

And unfiltered pipe tobacco gives them a nice colour too :)
