[livejournal.com profile] puritybrown is moving to Edinburgh to study. This will leave a gap in one of my D&D campaigns, Age of Legends. Age of Legends is the "core campaign", the ongoing sequel to Spellbound. [livejournal.com profile] puritybrown's character, Lao Ma, will be continuing as a PBeM character, and will make occasional appearances when she's back in Ireland, but by and large, we've got a gap that might need filling.

However, this campaign runs on high standards. The current and past participants are the best and most devoted players I've ever had the pleasure of running a game for. The characters are complex, full, living people. So I'm not just going to take anyone who has Friday nights free - my campaign world (six years in development now) needs this campaign as an engine, and it needs to be reliably good. If you're looking for a less high-falutin' campaign, we can talk about that too.

So. The successful applicant will be free Friday nights, and have some experience in gaming, acting, interactive storytelling, or similar areas. They will be able to cope with the details of a massive world, and a cast of well over a hundred regular recurring NPCs, and many hundreds more of minor characters. (They will have something to live up to here, as [livejournal.com profile] puritybrown's memory is supernatural when it comes to details of world and characters). They will also be able to contribute some time outside of Friday nights, to in-character correspondence, conversation, etc. They must be able to drop into character in a crowded pub to answer a question from another player (well, not that often, but it has happened). They must be willing to commit to a long-term, open-ended campaign (I know that this can't always be controlled, but I don't want to get someone started if they know they're leaving the country in three weeks time).

And now the character.

Well, anything is possible here. Existing PCs and similarly powered NPCs (allies and enemies) include proxies of gods, people who could slay gods with a touch, people who can cast gate at will, people who regenerate to full hit points in a single round, people who have curse laid on them so firmly that the gods find something they have to do in another part of the multiverse rather than try to remove it, people who travel in time, people who are older than the world, people who gods obey when they say "Pass me the butter". It's an epic level campaign, so characters between level 18 and 22 would be acceptable to begin playing. However, they've got to fit with the existing characters, so this had best be discussed.

Finally, players currently in the campaign will have power of veto over acceptance of new players, and I reserve the right to say "No, sorry," if I feel for any reason that it wouldn't work.
