The planning for the food weekend proceeds well. So far, the dishes to be cooked include:

Baigan Bartha (vegetarian Indian dish based on aubergines)
Chicken Saag
Tomato Risotto

I'll have to do some Basmati rice for the Indian stuff, but I'm still looking to do one more dish as well - suggestions are welcome. I also have a few miscellaneous veg and mushrooms, with which I'll do something, too.

For people coming over, arrive any time you want after about 3pm Saturday. Bring yourself, some drink if you want to, and anything you think you might persuade me to cook. You may have a dishbrush handed to you at some point, so don't say I didn't warn you. Let me know in comments here, mail or sms if you do intend to arrive, so I can approximate amounts. Anyone and everyone welcome - drop me a mail if you need directions.

Re: A suggestion

These? Doesn't look TOO hard; what was the problem?

Although I don't think we have proper facilities for deep frying.

Re: A suggestion

The main problem is that I've ended up eating all the risotto so I've none left to make 'em with and don't know how tricky they are.

Have to ask my mom if she is up to it but yeah, sounds good. If we come, we'll be there early-ish, (late afternoon- early evening), as my mom likes to go to bed early.

Will bring some exotic juices that will go well with Indian food. As a food suggestion, how about a mild korma with ther rest of the veg and mushrooms?

Sounds like a good notion. Korma will take in just about anything, I think. I'll see what I can manage.

Oooh butter chicken is gorgeous! All Indian restaurants in Sydney offer it, but I've yet to see it anywhere in the UK (except sainsburys but supermarket curries never taste quite right).
