It seems strange to have a calm day in work. But there's no thunder today, real or metaphorical, and things are running well; I'm getting material well ahead of deadline, and it's not completely removed from the last stuff of this kind we did, and absolutely no one's dead.

We lit a fire in the bedroom last night for the first time this winter, and I slept really well. Usually, I find it too dry if the heating is on all night, but the fire seems to be a different kind of heat - more comfortable, less dry. Even the cat's six o'clock wakeup call consisted only of coming to sit on me, rather than the wailing in the ear performance.

And tonight, I finish that scenario.

Out of curiosity, in the event that you do find the heat to be too dry, have you considered putting a basin of water near the fire to evaporate and humidify the environment overnight?

On the topic of that scenario - I just idly opened up the draft, got to the bit about, well, the nature of the enemy, and started laughing uncontrollably. Good job.
