Several of the shops in Dun Laoghaire are now taking down the Hallowe'en window displays, and replacing them with Christmas ones (or in one case, a non-celebration-specific pile of toys). Do they think Hallowe'en was last weekend? And I was stunned to be asked, a few days ago, what date Hallowe'en falls on this year. Tch. Fools.

Anyone who has not yet rsvp'd on attending our Hallowe'en bash, get along to [livejournal.com profile] inannajones' journal, and comment on the relevant post there (I'm posting by email, or I'd get you a proper URL). I'm taking the day off to carve pumpkins and entertain [livejournal.com profile] miroza_cat.

I can say, working in retail as I do, that absolutely all of my Christmas displays have to be up by the end of next week, and there are so many that some of them have to go up this week. I'm planning on leaving the very Halloweeny ones up through Friday though, just because I like it. But that's as long as they can stay. And forget about Thanksgiving. One display. Phhbtt.
