I posted a while back about a spam I got from an "Elizabeth Richson". I'm still getting comments on the post from people who were spammed under the same name. There's a strange thing, though. It doesn't look like an unlikely name. But at the this stage the only non-spam reference to an Elizabeth Richson to be found anywhere on the web refers to someone born in 1849 in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Apparently, her father was a sash maker. There are good sized conspiracy theories based on less than this, you know.

She is a web master, and she has lots and lots of sites,one about Beauty and Health, and Homes and Gardens, and Herpes and she thinks everybody elses' is cool and she wants to link to them all!!

She says I'm ranked 5th on Google for dungeon lost norath, which is amusing, since thats an online game... her sites about "Entertainment - games" but no where in the damn e-mail does she list her site...

yeah, i got one too, and found this site when i was trying to search her name. a bit weird, how would we link to her site even if we fell for it - not supplying a site to link to is a bit bizarre!

has anyone replied to the email address to see what would happen?

Just got one from Elizabeth Richson, and did a search to try and find the website and this is what I find... So there is no Elizabeth Richson and this is all a hoax. I have replied to the email but I don't hold much hope of hearing anything back.

That's funny -- this page is the first one that came up when I searched for "Elizabeth Richson" as well. I figured it was a spam, since I got two copies at once, but thought I'd check.

Very strange, anyway.

Busy lady our 'Liz! Got herself lots of references in Google out of this lot - (in)Fame(y) at last!

Mine suggested I ranked 17 on Google, for a newly re-built website not submitted for spidering yet I Wish!!

Like someone said - what's the point?

Just discovered this thread after searching for the lady - what's the forum about & is it worth joining?

Same here, said I was ranked #22 on Google and my site comes up in the top 5 most times. Weird, no link to her site. Think they just want live e-mail addresses.

Hi all. I got one of these today too. Apparently I'm ranked 22 for 'forum social phobia'. maybe I'll develop that now? But I ended up here instead ;-)

She says, "As a matter of fact, I've got a pretty loyal following of people that come back over and over again (they use the site as a reference), so if you link to me, you should get some pretty good traffic from it -- which is always nice."

The only site getting traffic must be this one. S'funny world.

I was told I ranked 11th in Google in a search for "cathedral ceiling crown moulding". I'm pretty sure I don't use any of those words on my site and out of interest tried that search myself. As I expected, my site appeared nowhere.

Unless the sender is just trying to verify email addresses from the replies I don't see the point.
