I saw wannabe punks on the train

If you had asked me, I would have said
That as a hairstyle, the mohawk was dead.
But I've seen young men, with their trousers tucked in
To ankle high boots - looks like punk is back in.
Though the punks I remember, from hitching about,
Were angry and skinny and sang in a shout.
These ones are rotund and peaceful and calm,
Albeit with slogans that jeer Uncle Sam.
I know the Pistols have been dead for a while,
But I wanted to tell them punk's not just a style.

:siiigh: Yeah. When I was punky in the mid 80s, I knew that I wasn't really punk. But I was punker than they are.

(I had to walk uphill in the snow. Both ways.)
