My first impressions of the new Doctor Who are over on Duke Street. And I think almost everyone on my friendslist who could watch it did, by the looks of things.
hang on,you've not seen Dr Who before? Wow... I thought most people had seen at least a couple of episodes at some point.
The TARDIS interior sucked compared to the familar original but the rest was just fine for me, bit too quick in story setup -> denouement but they've ditched the old serial format so I guess there's no helping that.
Turned it into this weird thing like something out of Alien, the central column is up on several layers of metal latticework, kind of steps, and the room itself is all these curving beam things, and the control panels are covered in weird stuff... very modern, very scifi, totally unlike Dr Who. Looking at close-ups while hunting for a pic to show you, they've kept a few of the original features but you don't notice them at the time. piccy here
