Careful.... more RAM does not necessarially mean more power. A 128 MB 128bit card will be better than a 256 MB 64 bit card - and most affordable 256 MB cards are 64 bit. The ATI Radeon 9800 pro will set you back about 200 euro on komplett.ie and is the best one you can go for in that price range IMO. Asides from that, you need to check your motherboard's compatibility with the AGP settings of the card and maybe do a little research beforehand to check for potential problems.
I have a 128MB Geforce 5200 ultra one that might work with your PC (or may not as the case may be, its a little funny) It should be able to handle what you want to do - it was able to run Half Life 2 with plenty of options up high without catching fire. This card is actually the moral of the first paragraph, technically it should have worked with my old motherboard (it was AGP 4x I think and the motherboard said it could handle it but it turned out that some obscure conflict prevented it).
Call or mail me if you want more infor or to give it a go.
