Ambient Movement

Yesterday, courtesy of a birthday gift from niallm, I took possession of two CDs and a novel. The CDs got MP3'd immediately, and listened to through the day, as music from Tangerine Dream and The Future Sound of London goes well with coding. However, this morning, listening to them again on Meeces as I walked across to Lansdowne Road, I decided that ambient was made for walking and MP3 players. I shall be seeking more of this stuff.

Tangerine Dream's "Phaedra" was one of the main reasons I got into electronic music. If you want more ambient I heartily recommend Biosphere's "Substrata", made in Finland at sub zero temperatures. Not as bleepy and analogue as TD, more minimal soundscape type stuff with field recordings mixed in. It still spirits me away..
