You call that cold? Today the highest daytime temperature here was -25.4 °C -- well, in the valley. Up here it is usually a bit colder. The night I expect to go closer to -35 °C.
It is not for nothing that I call my area "Western Siberia".
The damn thing is here already. We have temperatures well below -20 degrees every day, and I hear this winter's record cold so far was measured up in Lapland yesterday: over -40 degrees.
It's absolutely freezing out here, and with a bit of wind it's so hellishly cold that you have to have a pretty damn good reason to even contemplate leaving the house.
