That style now looks much better. Layout is improved, link colours changed. I'd appreciate feedback from people on Mac and Unix systems, and those on very low and very high resolutions. And anyone like [livejournal.com profile] olethros, who uses his browser at less than full screen. Look here.

I'm using IE 5 on a Mac OS 9.1.4 - I usually have a browser window that fills about 3/4of the screen. I think it looks quite fine!
In fact, I've been considering re-styling my LJ in the same sort of way; informational text in a left column, the journal entries in the center, and nav on the right. So... in a little bit, you might think I'm stealing...

Cheers, appreciate it. When I have it all settled up and working, I'll make it available for other people to use, so you can work off that basis. It's got hard coded colours and other disapproved-of things, but it's a colour-dependent design, so I figure that's OK.

Oh, I already have a 3-column layout that I want to use. I'm totally geeky about CSS. So the page will look very plain in Netscape 4, but hey. I've been tinkering with the idea for a while; I've just been lazy about implementation, if I really want to do it.

Looked good to me on a Win 98 machine running IE5, I'll take a look at it on the thing at home with Netscape

Looks great full-screen and 3/4-screen in Mozilla 1.2a under Linux at 1152 x 864. It actually looks better than most LJs in Moz. Also looks great in Konqueror, other than Konq's normal mangling of the heading fonts. I don't have Netscape 4.77 or Opera running currently, so can't give you an opinion on either of those. Netscape 6.2 renders it like Moz.

Hope that helps. :)
