In an apparent attempt to force Ireland to actually become the 51st State, Dun Laoghaire is holding a 4th of July Festival. So far, the only evidence of such is that one of the off-licences is giving 15% off all wine from Wednesday to Sunday. Doesn't seem very American to me - surely that should be 15% off Budweiser? It's a project of the "Dublin Riviera Company". Apparently, Dun Laoghaire also celebrates Canada Day and Bastille Day.

dang. i guess any excuse for a party is a good one, eh? and yeh, 15% off Bud would be hella more appropriate, unless they're targeting Californians...
