I’ve started writing up the account of the India trip. The first day’s worth is now available for your reading pleasure, transcribed from my travelling journal. Illustrations will follow later.

India!

Really interesting to read - actually prompted me to go back and think about some of the stuff I had written. Great that you had such a varied time.

My only comment would be that your leather photo album is VERY unlikely to actually be leater.

If it's fake, then it's the best fake leather I've ever seen - and we upholstered chairs and rocking horses at home in both fake and real leather for years. I'll take another look at it, but I'm pretty sure it's genuine; Dilli Haat had a lot of leather goods, in books, bags and shoes, and all of it looked and smelled right.

I'm sure that it's real something, I just wonder whether it was made from the skin of a cow.

Ah, right. Doesn't matter much as far as I'm concerned; leather is leather, no matter whether it's cow or horse or what. I can't see this thickness of leather coming from anything much smaller. Could be goat leather, of course, which would be kind of cool. I wonder how you could tell?

I don't have time to read it now, but I just want to say I love the look of the page.

Thank you! There'll be plenty more as well - that's two days worth, and while I slowed down from the four entries a day state, there's still a lot of text to go out.

Really interesting! I'll wait (in)patiently for the next bits.
