Has anyone out there any recommendations for a device which:

(1) I can take notes on, preferably via a small keyboard or some easy-to-use stylus thing?
(2) Can play MP3s to earphones?
(3) Has a decent battery life?
(4) Will not cost more than a finger or two?

It does not have to be able to do wifi, email, web-browsing, etc. I do need to be able to transfer data from it to a PC very easily - something with a cradle and auto-synching of some kind would be ideal.

I have an ipaq which should fit the bill pretty well, which I'm happy to part with (since my E65 does everything it ever did, pretty much). You'd need to buy a bluetooth keyboard or something, and/or a new stylus. (I've lost the stylus.)

I forget the model number.

That sounds rather useful. Could I perhaps give it a trial? And how much do you want for it?

Also, does the stylus for it have have any specific attributes, or will any smooth-tipped-but-pointy-like bit of plastic do the trick?

I'd say so -- I've achieved usable results using my finger (hurr hurr). The proper stylus would slide in the stylus hole, of course.

I can throw it, the dock and charger in my bag and carry them around until an opportunity to hand them over appears. I will be in town each evening this week.

Excellent. I'll be in touch sometime tomorrow to arrange a handover.
