I'm not sure what to make of this... this morning, I was peacefully sitting in Tara Street station, waiting for the train to take me to Dun Laoghaire, reading Wizard of the Pigeons. I was sitting on the ground, since all the seats were occupied. An old guy, scruffy, in non-descript colours, lots of grey-brown beard, was making his way along the platform, stopping and muttering at people. As he came nearer, I could hear a few people's replies, although not what he was saying. He was shaking his head after each reply. Most said "I don't know", one said "Money", and another, "God". He got to me, crouched beside me and asked, in very low tones: "What's the most important thing?". I blinked a bit, and turned the book over on my lap, and then said "Love". He grinned and looked at the book. "That's right," he said "Love. Wizard. Yer the Wizard of Duke Street, you are!". And stood up and strode away down the platform, leaving me still blinking.

dublin seems to be the place for this...

When I was living in Ireland, I had a friend visit me from Germany- Stephanie. While she visited, we kinda fell for each other, and it was a very itneresting time. Anyway, she left after a week, and I was wandering aimlessly, wondering what to do.

So there I am at the KCR, trying to decide whether to go to church or to go to [livejournal.com profile] mr_wombat and [livejournal.com profile] metalrabbit's place.

At this point, an old lady comes up to the bus stop where I'm standing. She's singing this strange song, the lyrics to which are something like "all around town..." Anyway, she and I are chatting, talking about how songs get popular now and they're very different from the songs that used to get popular.

Her bus comes and she's about to get on, and she turns back to me and says, "you know, at the end of our lives, God is the only one we have." And then she gets on the bus. Right. Well, I took that as a sign to get me to a church. Was quite interesting. :)
