By the way, I don't know if I posted this before, or if only [livejournal.com profile] inannajones did, but:

The infamous, fabulous, now actually traditional, Yule Party. Our place. 14th December. 7-8pm onward. Mulled wine. Chocolate log. Probably a cat in a tree.

We have crash space for a good few people - indeed, there's even a spare bed now, not just couch and floor.

Cambridge people are expected to make special efforts to attend. That means [livejournal.com profile] shekhmet, [livejournal.com profile] grahamb and [livejournal.com profile] oakdryad. :) It's traditional. Or at least, it will be if someone makes it this year.

If anyone needs to know where we are, confirm that someone will fetch them from the airport, or wishes to complain about being too far away, drop me a line.

what a shame, I'm spending the weekend on a medieval castle this weekend... :D

I'll complain about being too far away! It sounds fabulous! And I'm glad to see some of the traditions kept up, like the chocolate log and the cat-in-tree. :) We do those, too!

Do you decorate the cat?

The cat only arrived last January/February or thereabouts, so we haven't had the chance yet. We probably won't have the option not to, though.

You darlings! Thanks so much for inviting me :) :). I expect impoverishment and work will keep me chained to the shackles of Cambridge, but it's lovely to be invited.

And I, too, would love to know if you decorate the cat. In fact, I am so inspired by the notion of a cat in a tree that right now I am going to try to persuade my current little cat visitor to let me hang an ornament on her ear. If I do not return to LJ you know she has responded to this indignity by wreaking a mighty vengeance upon me!

Well, y'see, Ryanair are dead cheap at the moment, and we'll feed you while you're here... Our agent in England ([livejournal.com profile] olethros) will apply more persuasion.

Fact: It can actually work out cheaper to fly to Dublin and attend our party than to spend a weekend at home. This has been tested. :)

Alas, we are seeing Steeleye Span in Christchurch that night. Otherwise, what with those cheap Ryanair fares... :)
