I like living in a house where in a few minutes, without too much effort, I can lay my hands on sealing wax, two kinds of seals, a quill pen, ink, and gold and silver pens. We addressed, sealed, and have ready to send about two dozen Christmas/Yule/Seasonal cards today.
This was after a trip to the supermarket for various goods, and the ceremonial placing of the outside lights (which involved another trip shopwards seeking insulating tape, which I was eventually given by our local florist free of charge) and with the accompaniment of mince pies, mulled wine, and some rather good stollen. And appropriate music, some of which is now stuck in my head.
The outside lights are in the little evergreen in what might, if you were feeling generous, be called our front yard, and we have a seven light bridge in the front window - I've not seen them much in this country, but they're in every window in Finland, and they're really nice.
Tomorrow is the Decoration Hunting Day in work.
