Hey, silme and loupblanc, what're your SCA names? We ran into some SCA folks here at the weekend, and it looks like we might finally get around to joining.
Do you mean register your name/arms or register as a herald? I'm really confused. Ulf, can you help???
I hate to say this, but I've been a field and court herald for over twenty years in three kingdoms, and I've never been registered as a herald anywhere. I'm sort of wondering who told you what.
Don't worry about registering your arms right away. You can help out others before you register your own. There's an amazing number of people, especially here in Drachenwald, who don't have their arms registered. (Okay, so mine have been registered for over twenty years, but who's counting? :)
I just hate to see someone who's interested in heraldry feel turned away from the SCA.
Oh the name got registered, the heraldry got refused I have an idea of how to fix that.
I didn't feel turned away, I was a committee member for a while and produced the newsletter for Lough Devnaree while I was working for a local community newsletter, I lapsed my membership because I moved from Galway to Dublin and got out of contract with the right people.
