Hi, I'm your new headache. Are you sitting comfortably? Then we'll begin. This is just above your left eye. Feel the stabbing pain? No, there's nothing on the outside, you can't rub me away. This is in your right temple. Look, I can make your eye twitch! Back to the bit above the left eye now. Isn't this fun? Quick stab over the right ear in case you get desensitised. Another stab over the left eye, leaving little lights flashing, a brief burst of nausea, and there, we're all done. Thirty seconds, that wasn't so bad now, was it?

Wtf was all that about? Less than half a minute of severe pain, some nausea, and poof! all better again. No warning, and no apparent reason.

Take a walk, get some fresh air. It sounds like the start of a migraine, I'm sorry to say :-(

I've never had one before, do they just arrive? No sign of it since, anyway... (touch wood).

Sounds like a drive-by migraine. It's hard to tell whether it was one, because the symptoms vary so wildly - I get an upset stomach for two days, then wildly flashing lights, and only then do I get any pain. Some people just get the pain, some just get the nausea.

It might be worthwhile taking an anti-inflammatory, depending on the effect they have on your stomach.

Hmm, well, I'm just happily suffering (no, far too strong a word)... I'm just happily ignoring a much milder but more constant headache over here that I suspect has a lot to do with bizarre pressure variations. Oh, that an JUNOS, but I'm blaming the pressure...

I had something similar happen last week, only it lasted a little bit longer. It was right as the really bad tornado-type weather was brewing...so I think it may have been a reaction to the dramatic drop in air pressure or something.

Take care of yourself.

It took me a while to learn to recognize the signs of an oncoming migraine, since mine are blessedly rare, and only started when I was out of my teens.

Bearing in mind that migraines are different for everyone:

Mine begin as a nagging headache in the morning, and get worse from there. The most definite sign is a sort of visual hallucination of grey or black circles creeping inwards from the edges of my vision. It isn't long after this that I start wanting to do nothing but lie down in a darkened room and moan. Thankfully, mine only last a few hours.
