Back in work. Feeling alive, at least. Was bemused, coming out of Dun Laoghaire station, to see a small dog paragliding past. He was, however, rapidly pursued by his owner - it looked like an umbrella had gotten caught up in the dog's leash, and while the owner's back was turned, the wind caught the umbrella. From the way his tail was going, the dog was quite enjoying it.

(For the comfort of the dog-lovers in the audience, the hound was retrieved without too much difficulty, and on release, bounced around yapping some. So presumably uninjured and happy.)

Heh. Looks like I'm not the only one ill. Apparently my boss went home early yesterday, unwell. The graphic designer called in sick this morning. And there's no sign yet of the DBA, the copy writer, or either of the two marketing folks.

In the past two days, the webmaster address for my company has recieved: 10 instances of Klez, 6 porn spams, 2 viagara spams, 2 Make $$$ Fast scams, one Nigerian scam, 2 software spams, 2 advertising spams, and one spam each for mortgages, jewellery, surveys, printer ink, gambling sites and cheap diplomas. And something in a language which my machine can't render, which has to be pretty obscure. Buried in this lot was one single solitary actual customer mail.

Oh, and because I completely forgot to mention it before, I'll mention now that I met John Handelaar, Emily Dubberley, and Bernie Goldbach in the Octagon Bar last night. Cos, y'know *buffs knuckles* that's the kinda company I hang out with all the time, y'know?

But John and Emily are planning on moving to Ireland early next year, so if anyone's going to be offering decent accomodation around then, drop them or me a line.

Some interesting weather coming up. Wet and windy, for the most part, from now until Tuesday - with occasional bouts of bright sunshine. Sunday to be really manky - mainly because it's a Bank Holiday Weekend, as far as I can see - rain and high winds. And then after Tuesday, it's going to switch to dry and cold for the rest of next week, with daytime temperatures not higher than 7°C, and sharp frosts at night. Proper weather. Now, I'd like some snow, because they've had snow in Finland and in New England.

(So I'm a meteorology geek. Big deal.)
