Up at 05:00 this morning to head to the airport and meet [livejournal.com profile] mooseloon. We passed each other in the airport, looking at each other, and then each of us looked over our shoulders at the same time. It was very U2 video, or maybe that was just me at some minutes after 6 in the morning, without coffee.

Got back home, installed her in the spare room, provided as much direction as possible for getting to and from the city centre, and started out for work - and wasn't even that late, which is great.

Arm still stiff and sore from the pell work - it's a pity there's no useful scale of pain, because if there was, I'd be able to ask "Is it supposed to be this sore, or am I hitting too hard?".

I'm debating back and forth between Irish and Norse for the SCA name - I could use a perfectly respectable "Daithi O'Siadhail" for the Irish one (Irish version of my own middle and surname), but there's a certain appeal to the Norse notion as well...
Something that occasionally ticks me off about slash fanfic - why do people write stories where everyone is gay? The statistical likelihood is, uh, low, and it does rather strain the suspension of disbelief.

And since I know that there are several fanfic writers, readers, and participants reading this, can someone recommend some decent plot-heavy, romance-light fanfic in any of: Harry Potter, X-Men, X-Files, B5, ST:TNG or ST:DS9, or Star Wars? And if such things exist, Diane Duane, Barabara Hambly, or Chine Mieville fanfic would be very welcome.

Struggling with some 4D stuff here again - what does a 4D sphere look like in 3D? A sphere that grows and shrinks over its time duration/dimension? A cigar?

And what would the 4d equivalent of a flat disc like a coin be?
Hm. I'm working on an FAQ for Swiftpay. And "Is this system available worldwide? Is it international?" has a definite ring to it of "Is it secret? Is it safe?"
