Just been sent the spec for a project that's to deploy entirely automatically between January 1st and January 4th. Deadline December 18. The Christmas promotions spec is due in tomorrow. Deadline December 18. And the Head Tech wants some XSL worked over so that things run smoothly over the holidays. Deadline, you guessed it, December 18. This is December 3. I have at present four other small projects on hand, all due ASAP. Scam complaints to the webmaster@ alias - that's me - jumped 150% over the weekend, and there are some really creative ones out there. And because this is all coming through more than two weeks in advance, they're calling it planning. Woo!

[livejournal.com profile] yendi mentioned in a comment on my post about the Authority d20 stuff that Millar's work on it made no sense. Now, I thought to myself something like "Ah well, how bad could it be?" and bought the fourth book anyway.

Holy mackrel.

The man was not kidding. It hath negative sense. It is complete, even for a high-unreality setting, nonsense. It is almost (but not actually) charming in its sheer I-had-a-100%-acid-diet-while-I-was-writing-this-ness. It is all fucked up.

And it all goes back to the way it was at the end, leading me to suspect that Warren Ellis called Marc Millar, and threatened him with GBH.
